Salmon watchers spotted the first coho spawner of the season come in to the creek from Fauntleroy Cove late Wednesday, Oct. 30. Salmon Watch 2024 to document coho spawners in Fauntleroy Creek will kick off on Sunday, Oct. 13, with the annual drumming. Getting new net traps into upper and lower Fauntleroy Creek on March 14 proved to be good timing.
Nineteen salmon releases are now scheduled for late April through May.
The Fauntleroy Watershed Council’s Nov. 12 open creek drew 136 visitors of all ages.
With rain and 11-foot tides in the offing, the Fauntleroy Watershed Council will host an all-ages open creek on Sunday (Nov. 12) between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.
With high hopes, 20 volunteer salmon watchers are now on duty to document coho spawners in lower Fauntleroy Creek.
