Planning is well under way for spawning season. Per our state permit, volunteers will soon relocate any logs on the beach that might prevent coho spawners from easily accessing the mouth of the creek at high tide.
On Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4 pm, we’ll sing and drum to call in spawners during our annual all-ages drumming (free @ creek level below fish-ladder). That same day, we’ll start Salmon Watch 2023. To volunteer to watch at the fish ladder during high tide, email info@fauntleroywatershed.
If/when coho spawners start coming in, veteran watchers will host a weekend “open creek” for anyone interested in seeing the action. Watch the West Seattle Blog for date/time.
