Charlotte Linton is newly assigned as a forest steward for the Fauntleroy watershed and will be focusing her attention on Fauntleroy Park. She joins Peggy Cummings (in photo), whom the Green Seattle Partnership recently recognized for her decade of service as a forest steward here.
Forest stewards monitor conditions in natural areas, lead restoration projects, and do public outreach on behalf of the city’s forest areas. Charlotte and Peggy are among 200+ such volunteers across the city.
A resident of Arbor Heights, Charlotte was drawn to this part of Seattle by its proximity to parks and Puget Sound. She trained to become a forest steward as a way to engage in hands-on conservation close to home. As the weather warms, she’s looking forward to organizing family-friendly work parties in the park.
