Fauntleroy Creek: An In-City Resource for Bringing the Natural World to Life<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The uplands, wetlands, riparian corridor, and cove that make up the creek system\u00a0offer a rich resource for students to explore, study, and develop stewardship\u00a0principles in a natural\u00a0 environment, right in the city. We welcome any teacher or\u00a0youth leader to this classroom \u2013 and your only costs are making a few photocopies\u00a0and getting here.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a combination of grants, private donations, and volunteer effort, we are\u00a0able to provide<\/p>\n

\u00a0– a \u201ccafeteria\u201d of learning activities for various ages and objectives
\u00a0– equipment for these activities
\u00a0– on-site leadership
\u00a0– ideas and support for service-learning and research projects in the watershed
\u00a0– the flexibility to tailor activities to specific needs or, if a field trip isn\u2019t possible, to bring an appropriate presentation to your classroom.<\/p>\n

To schedule, contact us at least three weeks prior to your preferred field-trip date.\u00a0\u00a0If you haven\u2019t been here before, we ask that you arrange to come ahead of time to\u00a0get acquainted with the site.<\/p>\n

If you select a self-guided activity, please let us know. We keep a record of how\u00a0many students use this classroom every year, plus we can tell you when other\u00a0groups are already scheduled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
