Salmon Watch 2025 to document coho spawners in Fauntleroy Creek will kick off on Sunday, Oct. 13, with the annual drumming. This all-ages community event will employ the beat of drums to call in spawners from the cove. It will start at 4:00 pm just off the intersection of SW Director and upper Fauntleroy Way SW; a drum will guide you.
Some 30 volunteers will be taking shifts to document spawners during the five hours after daytime high tide. Veteran watchers will host a free weekend “open creek” if we have spawners. Watch the West Seattle Blog for that announcement.
